Christopher studied fine art at the National School of Arts. Little did he know that he would become an actor and not to mention a dancer, singer, model, MC and Presenter.
After matriculating at the age of 16, he took a gap year and did voluntary work for an organization called Youth for Christ, where he was part of a team who travelled throughout Africa, Europe and America, raising money for HIV and aids orphanages, through dance, drama and industrial theater.
During this time his interest for acting had grown and become a passion, that he moved to California USA where he then studied acting at the Stella Adler School of Film in Los Angeles.
When he returned home, Chris earned a place in South Africa's best and longest running musical – "African Footprint" having had no dance or drama experience. Chris realised that hard work trumps talent and worked his way up to lead roles in the show and this is where his journey began.
Since then, you would have seen Chris in numerous musical theater productions such as:
Besides theatre, Chris has also graced our television screens and has been seen in print media from time to time, through various advertising campaigns as a model for various brands. He has also been seen on television series such as "Inkaba", where he guest starred as himself. In "Geraamtes In Die Kas", he played Tony Minnelo, a character battling with HIV,keeping it a secret from his fiancé.
On SABC 3 in "High Rollers", he played Xavier a wealthy Spaniard and in the early days of "Isidingo" he played the role of the "Dark Stranger".
In 2014, he has played the leading role in 4 of DSTV – Kyknet&Kie'sChannel 145 films, as part of the "Ons Stories" series. These include: Alwyntyd; Skrikkeljaar; Die Staat Se Bul and Magic Moves. His first film, "Alwyntyd" saw the ratings climb and got great reviews and feedback. "Alwyntyd" is about a couple from different racial backgrounds, who fall in love during the apartheid era and have to see if their love is strong enough to survive this monster.
He will be seen in the new television series called "Roere JouVoete" which starts airing at the end of July 2015, Wednesdays at 8pm on SABC3, where he plays the antagonist-Gideon.
Most recently Chris was a finalist in the Top 5 in SABC's "Presenter Search on 3" competition and has honed and refined his skills as a Presenter.
Other MC and presenting jobs include, Dimension Data(Presenter), ABI's Stoney road show(MC), MTN road show(MC), various weddings(MC), youth week(MC), Absa(MC); Windhoek Lager (MC), Anglo Platinum (MC and Presenter) as well as several other brands and most recently Mc'd blisters for bread 2015 in Cape Town where over 11,000 people came it in full support.
Chris is also proud to be the latest addition to the top billing family.
